Online Physics, Chemistry and Maths Tutor for Students in the Middle East and Hong Kong

The Online Physics Tutor provides one-to-one online tuition in physics, chemistry and maths for students following British and international curricula in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Hong Kong. Lessons take place live over Zoom or Google Meet and are taught by Dr Andy Gibson (BSc, PGCE, QTS, MSc, PhD), a qualified teacher with experience as an exam board examiner.

Students can start to study with us from Year 9 through to the final year of school and beyond. We also teach university entrance preparation and first-year undergraduate Physics content.

Lesson times and time zones

I teach from the UK between 9am and 9pm, Monday to Thursday, UK time. The times below are approximate and depend on the time of year, because the UK changes its clocks to winter time on the last Sunday in October (GMT, UTC), then to British Summer Time (BST, UTC+1) on the last Sunday in March. During clock changes, I will do my best to keep your tutorial at the same time for you, so the change doesn’t affect you. On the rare occasions it does affect your tutorial time, I will let you know well in advance.

• UAE and Oman (UTC+4): 3 hours ahead of the UK during British Summer Time, 4 hours ahead in winter.

• Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain (UTC+3): 2 hours ahead of the UK during British Summer Time, 3 hours ahead in winter.

• Hong Kong (UTC+8): 7 hours ahead of the UK during British Summer Time, 8 hours ahead in winte

Frequently asked questions for international students:

Do you tutor students who live outside the UK?
Yes. Tuition takes place entirely online, so I teach students in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Hong Kong as well as in the UK. All you need is a computer or tablet, a reliable internet connection, and either Zoom or Google Meet.

What times are lessons available for students outside the UK?
Time differences can get confusing, especially as the UK changes its clocks. As a general rule, once you’ve finished school for the day, I’ll be free to teach. Contact me, and we’ll work out a suitable regular time.

How do I pay?
You must pay for tutorials in advance. On the first of the month, I will send you an invoice for that month’s tutorials. You can pay by card using the link on the invoice, or by international bank transfer; please get in touch for my IBAN details.

We will apply a 5% late fee if invoices are not paid within a week.

How much does online tuition cost?
Rates depend on the time of day in the UK and can change. Please check the contact page for current pricing

How do I get in touch?
To arrange tuition, email or message us on WhatsApp. Please tell us the student's country, year group, subject, exam board and preferred lesson times, and we will work out a time for your first session.
