One-to-one tutorials

I will work with the student to quickly find the problems they are having, then rebuild their knowledge and correct their misconceptions, making the relevant science or maths clear and easy to understand. Ultimately, I help my students do their best while making the learning process fun, enjoyable, and inspiring.

Experience and Trust

I am a fully qualified DBS-checked Physics teacher with twenty years of experience in education.

I founded The Online Physics Tutor in 2011, and since then I have helped hundreds of students achieve higher grades in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths.

Exam technique

Working as an examiner for the major exam boards in the UK has given me a detailed understanding of examination requirements. I extend this insight to my students, giving them not only the required knowledge for their exams but also the best exam technique and problem-solving skills. This helps my students understand exactly what examiners are looking for and supports them in achieving their best possible results.

Physics

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (science specialising in physics). I taught in secondary schools as a fully qualified teacher. I have a Master's in Nanoscience, a PhD in Chemical Physics, and 15 years' experience as a professional physics tutor.

I teach all levels of physics from KS3, GCSE, IGCSE, IB, AP, A-level, and undergraduate.

100% Online

All my tutorials are conducted online via Zoom or Google Meet. I use BitPaper as an interactive whiteboard for myself and my students. Here we can work through concepts, understanding and subject knowledge. Then develop exam technique and problem-solving skills.

Being only online means students can get more support from me when they need it, and they can access my help from anywhere in the world.

All Exam Boards

I have experience with all the major exam boards for GCSE and A-level: AQA, CIE, Edexcel, Eduqas, OCR, WJEC. Having taught all of them and worked for most in the past.

I also teach the international IGCSE and A-level, the International Baccalaureate (IB), and the American AP. I also teach several undergraduate courses and university entrance exams such as PAT, ESAT/NSAA, UCAT, MAT etc.

Chemistry and Maths

I have a Master’s degree from the Nottingham University School of Chemistry and a PhD in Chemical Physics, as well as completing three semesters of undergraduate mathematics. Couple this with over fifteen years’ experience teaching and tutoring these subjects, and I am one of the most qualified and experienced tutors in the world for both chemistry and maths.

Worksheets and problems

This website offers hundreds of free worksheets. I believe that doing questions is the key to success in physics, chemistry and maths.

At the end of every tutorial, I send my students questions that reinforce what we have covered during tutorials, or what they need to work on.
